I have been a writer ever since grade school. Around third grade, I began writing poems (one of my fourth-grade poems is included in my debut novel!), and by junior high, I was creating teen drama and crime drama novel series.

As a young single mother, I put my passion for writing novels aside. I completed my bachelor's degree in English while working full time as a single mother, and many moons later, I have had the gift of time to reflect. While I was in the midst of the multitude of stresses that come with being a single parent, I didn't stop to smell roses or think about the fact that I was a statistic. That I was another one of the nearly 50% of Black American mothers who are single parents.

I now write the kinds of stories I wish I could've stumbled upon before I became a single mother. My mission is to inspire hope and foster change regarding the crippling community issue of single-parent households, one story at a time.
